Police Work Nets Young Arsonist

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – The Essex County OPP Crime Unit and the Essex County OPP Street Crimes Unit took an old fashion approached when they hit the streets of Leamington to help identify a suspect in relation to the arson on March 12th, 2012.

As a result of good old police work a young person has been arrested and charged.  On March 14th, 2012 at 10:30pm the OPP arrested a 16 year old male from Leamington.  His name cannot be released since he is a young person as defined by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  The teen has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences;

    1. Arson – Cause Bodily Harm
    2. Break and Enter to a Dwelling house
    3. Mischief under $5000

The youth has been released from custody on a Promise to Appear with numerous conditions.
