Angel Arrested In Cambridge

(WATERLOO, ON) – In July of 2011, members of the Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) in partnership with the Waterloo Region Police Service (WRPS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) commenced Project LONGRIDGE. 

Project Longridge was targeting the distribution of controlled substances in the Region of Waterloo and to the Province of Newfoundland.  These types of sophisticated investigations display the need for police agencies to form strong partnerships to prevent Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs from gaining control in our communities. A joint services policing team of highly skilled officers worked diligently during this investigation monitoring, gathering evidence essential to the case and forming the arrest strategy. 

Today, after just over three months, Project Longridge resulted in 11 search warrants being executed, 9 persons being arrested and 3 still being sought.  Two people were arrested in Newfoundland while the remainder were located in the Waterloo area.   

The investigation seized approximately 5 kilograms of cocaine, 3 pounds of marihuana three motor vehicles, $132,000 in cash, and 263 marihuana plants from three hydroponics grow operations which police dismantled.

As a result of the investigation and search warrants that covered areas in and aroundKitchener, Cambridge and New Hamburg, the following persons have been arrested and charges have laid;

Larry CHAVES (Hells Angels Gang Member) – 32 years –Acorn Way, Cambridge, Ontario.

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) x 2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (marihuana) x 2
  • Production CDSA (marihuana) x 3
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime
  • Conspiracy to Traffic (cocaine) x 1

Julie CHAVES  36 years –Acorn WayCambridgeOntario.

Meng TROEUNG – 40 years –Northview Heights Place, Cambridge, Ontario.

  • Trafficking in Cocaine x1

Brian GALWAY – 40-years-of-age –Christopher Court, Cambridge, Ontario 

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) x 4
  • Attempt to Possess for the Purpose of Trafficking x 1
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana) 

Colleen GALWAY  -41-years-of-age –Christopher Drive Cambridge, Ontario

  • Attempt to possess for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (marihuana)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – percocet pills (sched I)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime

Rita GALWAY  – 62 –years-of-age –98 Sekura Crescent, Cambridge, Ontario

  • Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
  • Possession of  Proceeds of Crime
  • Possession of a controlled substance (marihuana)

Patrick EZEKEIL – 56-years-of-age – Sekura Cr, Cambridge, Ontario.

Scott HUTCHINGS -41- years-of-age  Belle Island, Newfoundland

All accused will appear at the Provincial Court in Kitchener, Ontario.
