Youth Threatens Police

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – A Chatham youth was arrested yesterday in connection with a theft.

Last night, a man attended the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to visit a family member and parked his vehicle in a hospital parking lot.  When he returned to the parking lot, he saw a male youth exit his unlocked car and flee on foot. The man immediately called police and provided a detailed description of the youth. Officers attended the area and located the suspect. He had a cell phone from the victim’s car in his possession.

The youth was arrested and transported to the police station. During processing, he threatened to kill an officer’s family.

A 16-year-old Chatham male youth has been charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
