What Next For Councillor Al
Could Cogeco TV ratings could zoom up on Tuesday night? Read on
You have to admit that the social media has been rather cruel to Dwight-Lite. Of course, he deserves what he gets considering the credit card scandal and cover-up.
“Credit Card Al” the satirical parody on Youtube has gone platinum already with over 5300 views in just over one week! That is a rather astronomical number for a political video in a town in Ontario.
Could anything come next? Are people prepared to show their displeasure in a different way? What other social media type activity could there be?
Is it true that sweatshirts like the one on the cover page for this Article are being mass-produced for some purpose? If so, for what reason?
Hummmmmmm, I’ve got it: A Flashmob!
You know what that is. Wikipedia defines it this way:
“A flashmob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression. Flash mobs are organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails.”
What would happen so that everyone would be fooled, is that the flashmob participants would be wearing their normal outer garments, say a winter jacket, and then take them off to show the sweatshirt. They would then dance to a song that everyone would be familiar with and then when the song ends, they put back on their jacket and leave.
Oh my goodness. Do you think that the song that these people might dance to could be: “You can call me Al?” After all, it is the theme song for the “Credit Card Al” YouTube video.
But where would they do their Flashmob? Oh no, it could not be, they would not dare: City Council Chambers on Tuesday night at the Council meeting where Dwight-Lite is supposed to speak and perhaps resign!
It is impossible. It could not happen. It will not happen will it. To find out, one had better check the social media like Facebook and Twitter and see if there are any indications over the next day or so.
If you plan on attending the Council meeting and are asked to open your jacket as you enter City Hall , you will know why.
SOCIAL MEDIA RULES!
