SW Ontario Highway Construction

(TORONTO, ON) – Ontario is making major improvements to highways, roads and bridges in south-western Ontario, creating more than 20,000 construction jobs across the province and making travel easier for families and businesses.

Key highway improvements in south-western Ontario include: 

  • widening Highway 7/8 from Fischer Hallman Rd. to Courtland Avenue in Kitchener
  • building a new interchange at Highway 6 (Hanlon Expressway) and Laird Road in Guelph
  • repaving Highway 21 from Tiverton to Port Elgin
  • replacing the North Thames River Bridge, repairing the Flat Creek Bridge, and installing new culverts and guide rails along Highway 23 near Mitchell
  • repairing structures over Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent at Kenesserie Road and Duart Road
