Enwin Gives Ratepayers The Boot

Full video coverage of former city councillor and Windsor Utilities Commission board member, Ken Lewenza Jrs’ “Eddie Francis Truth Tour” to follow shortly.

You gotta hand it to Enwin’s brain-trust.

EnWin certainly has an interesting way of demonstrating it’s openness and transparency when residents were given a taste of the road blocks and interference the city’s former auditor general has alleged he faced.

Todd Langlois was terminated after just 10 months on the job on the recommendation of the audit committee which is chaired by Enwin’s CEO and President, Max Zalev.  Then when Mayor Francis stated last week during a city hall press conference Enwin’s ”books are open” email requests to receive copies of annual audits have gone unanswered by Enwin management.

And today, media and concerned ratepayers attending an information session with former councillor Ken Lewenza Jr were asked to leave property that taxpayers own.

Following Ken Lewenza’s presentation  an unidentified – albeit apologetic - Enwin security officer asked ratepayers and media to leave the premises.

“I’m sorry but you’re going to have to leave now,” the security officer said.

Ken Lewenza gave the security officer a hug telling those gathered she was just “doing her job.”

As attendees boarded the bus, Ken Lewenza called out, “Just to let you guys know, this is your asset and you’re being kicked out.”

  1. Honesty

@ Senior lady…… I agree with you on your comment but people will fight back only when they know the real cost to them from Enwin.

Until we get a full blown audit from the Ontario government or a reputable audit firm, the residents of Windsor will not do anything.

I am very proud of the people who went on that bus tour today, they showed City Hall that enough is enough. Being asked to leave Enwin property is another one of Eddie’s ideas I am sure, but, it’s not going to work. I believe the people of this City are ready to fight to get their City back and out of the hands of it’s self appointed King and his court.
