Murder Suspect In Custody
(NORTH VANCOUVER, BC) – On November 5, 2011 at 1:39am the North Vancouver RCMP responded to a 911 call at an apartment complex in the 500 block of W 28th Street for a domestic type dispute.
Upon attendance police located a male and a female victim inside the residence who appeared to be suffering from extensive injuries.
BC Ambulance Services attended the residence and the male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female victim was transported to the hospital where she remains in critical condition.
North Vancouver RCMP arrested a 27 year old man from inside the residence. Upon police arrival the suspect was extremely uncooperative and combative. Police were able to restrain him and he is currently in custody. Investigators are attempting to confirm his identity and the relationship between the three individuals.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in and has since taken conduct of the investigation.
One male is deceased and one female is still in hospital from injuries sustained in the attack.
IHIT has now confirmed the identity of the victims and has notified their next-of-kin. The deceased male is 53 year old Donald Ramsay and the injured female is his wife, 53 year old Wendy Ramsay.
Charged with one count of Second Degree Murder and one count of Attempted Murder is Jordan Ramsay, the son of Donald and Wendy. The family was living together in the North Vancouver apartment in the 500 block of W 28th Street.
Jordan Ramsay has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 7, 2011 at 9:30am in North Vancouver.
