Monday Night Magic!

(WINDSOR, ON) – In my never-ending quest to barely provide any free time to write for Windsor Square (note the hint of sarcasm!), I have come up with a unique experience for Windsor. It’s called “Monday Night Magic” and will consist of monthly showcases filled with magic and other variety arts from this region.

The first Monday Night Magic will be held on October 24th 2011 at Lakeshore Cinemas. The show starts at 7pm and lasts 1 ½ hours. Tickets are only $10 (or you can get 4 tickets for $30!). This show stars me, Bill Nuvo, performing magic, juggling and circus stunts. The feature opener is the talented Norm Ackland Jr., who is an Elvis tribute artist. It’s going to be a great evening!

There are a number of reasons why I wanted to create this event. Of course, there is a financial interest as I do have to make a living, but honestly, that isn’t my main goal or intent. My goal is to see these events succeed while providing residents of the Windsor/Essex County area with something fun to do on a Monday night.

Looking around on the bulletin boards, there didn’t seem to be very much happening on Monday nights at all, especially for the whole family.

Breaking it down:

• Tuesday: movie theatres are busy with “cheap nights”
• Montana’s offers Kid’s Night entertainment (you’ll find me there as well as other performing friends)
• Pizza Hut on Dougall Ave. will now be offering great value and fun for the entire family.
• Wednesday: Kid’s Night at Mongolian Grill (with me performing)
• Thursday: Jose’s Noodle Factory has Jangles the Clown.

That leaves the weekend, where most often there are tons of things to do! So the only day that is left out is poor old Monday…until now!

In tune with the articles and interviews I have written on Windsor Square, I also wanted to showcase some of the local talent I’ve been talking about. For the kick off, I have the extremely popular Norm Ackland, who will be performing some high energy songs from the King of Rock n Roll, Elvis. I have other performers who are also interested in performing as well, like magician, Wayne Tellier.

Along with the performances, we are also offering great door prizes like free movie passes and free Pizza Hut pizza. If that isn’t enticing enough, we also have grab bags for all audience members with goodies and coupons from area businesses such as: Montana’s, Smoke and Spice, Scholar’s Choice Dawn Abbot-Tupperware and the list keeps growing (check my website or Facebook’s event page to see new businesses being added!) You’ll actually save much more than your ticket price on these deals!
