Car Rolls Down Mountain Side

(KELOWNA, BC) - RCMP are investigating collision which occurred on Westside Rd approximately 7 km north of Hwy 97S. At 6:30 p.m., a red Cadillac sedan tried to pass  northbound grey Toyota station wagon on a sharp curve, and sideswiped the vehicle, forcing it into the cement barrier on the side of the road. 

The Cadillac lost control, went over the steep embankment and rolled down into the lake below.  The vehicle was submerged when emergency personnel arrived, and no one emerged from the vehicle.  Arrangements are being made for the RCMP Dive team to attend the following day for the recovery of the vehicle and occupant(s).

The occupants of the other vehicle were shaken up, but otherwise uninjured.

The investigation is continuing.
