TD Acquires Chrysler Financial

(TORONTO, ON) – Minister Sandra Pupatello issued the following statement regarding TD Bank Group’s acquisition of Chrysler Financial: 

“Congratulations to TD Bank Group on its purchase of Chrysler Financial, a move that will expand TD’s presence in the North American market. 

I would also like to welcome the newest member of TD to Ontario, as I understand they intend to operate this as a North American business headquartered in Toronto, creating new opportunities in our vibrant financial services sector. 

The success of Canadian banks during the global financial crisis has positioned Ontario’s financial institutions for strong growth and job creation.  Our most recent Financial Services business mission to New York, a conference supported in part by TD Bank Group, highlighted the opportunities for greater collaboration between Bay Street and Wall Street.
